Tom is a computer scientist, programmer and technical leader.
He is the former CTO of FutureLearn and Econsultancy.
He has lectured on optimising compilers at the University of Cambridge and written about technology for the Guardian. He co-organised the Ruby Manor conference and is a member of the London Ruby User Group and London Computation Club.
Tom is currently writing an ebook called “How to Write a Web Application in Ruby”. His previous book, “Understanding Computation”, was published by O’Reilly in 2013.
